GETTING OVER YOU

Words and Music By Roger Marin and Fred Eaglesmith

Sam Says: After performing this song solo many times at my live performances, the opportunity finally arose to get my friend Linda Allen to take a lead vocal and sing it with me as a duet. I always had a feeling that the arrangement would work out great, and it did. I couldn't wait to record it for "Wanted Man".

It should be crying time again--this time I'm really gone

You took away my keys--didn't even say so long

It should be crying time again--but I wouldn't be so sure

You think you broke my heart but this time you're wrong

(Chorus)

I'm getting over getting over you--I'm through just getting through

It should be crying time again, but darlin' what's the use

I'm getting over getting over you--I've tried too hard to try

It should be crying time again, but you wasted all of mine

Last night I set my watch--but I wound it too tight

And this morning it had stopped--right at crying time

It should be crying time again--that's what everybody says

But darlin' you should know I threw that watch away

Repeat (Chorus)
